Football Athletes Streaming on Twitch

Twitch has quickly become a household name over the past few years alongside many of the biggest content creators on the platform too playing some of the favourite games on the market, so it’s not all that surprising that many of our favourite biggest movie stars and athletes have made the jump across onto the platform too. From playing games that may be directly related to whatever they compete in, to just some of their favourite games available – and even with options for fans to get involved too as options like these betting sites enable a chance to support these stars during live play too – but who are the biggest football athletes with a presence on Twitch?

Neymar Jr – Perhaps the biggest and most well known is certainly Neymar, and he’s not a newcomer to the platform like some others had been over the past year too. Whilst he doesn’t focus any time at all really on streaming football games, he’s well known to play some of the biggest titles in the esports scene as well as collaborating with some of the biggest names on the platform too having previously done streams with Ninja and streams with the Call of Duty official channel, even missing out on the 2018 Ballon d’Or ceremony to play. He gained a lot of popularity playing the popular title of Counter-Strike however, and particularly during the pandemic period last year was able to rack up a lot of viewer hours on his streaming channel – but also being known for receiving a Twitch ban for leaking a phone number too.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic – Although the Twitch channel in question is owned by his brother, Zlatan makes regular appearances playing some of the most popular games – initially swept up in all of the hype for the game Fortnite, he has since made the adjustment just like many others across to Apex Legends as the two regularly stream together on the platform amongst many other games too. Gaming and esports as a whole have a long rooted history in Sweden, particularly with games like Counter-Strike and big events like DreamHack, so it’s not all that surprising that Zlatan would be a fond player of games like this too.

Max Verstappen – This F1 superstar may not be a football player but has been known to appear on stream playing football related titles – notably FIFA. He has been shown to play with a big streamer in his own right and another F1 drier of Lando Norris, but Max has plenty of chops in FIFA as back in 2019 he managed to reach 25th overall in the FUT Champions across all platforms and is a well known and formidable FIFA player – his new teammate Sergio Perez is also known to be one too, and although neither stream, it wouldn’t be out of the question to seem them regularly appearing on some known players broadcasts from time to time.
